NetSetGo Netball introduces children to the game of netball.  MDNA developed the Metro Way to provide a full understanding of the requirements, restrictions and transition skills for each age group.  Coaches of NetSetGo teams attend an MDNA training session of the Metro Way prior to season commencement.   For everyone else, in a nutshell:

7 year olds 

  • 2/3 length court with 8 ft post and size 4 ball (progressing to full size court)

  • 6 a side netball with positional bibs (excluding Centre) (progressing to 7 a side)

  • Coach Umpire

  • 1v1 defence from 4 ft - no defender over an attempt at goal

  • Non-scoring team Centre Pass

  • Shuffling feet ok with 6 seconds to pass

  • Non-competitive with Scorecard scoring  

8 year olds

  • Full-size grass court with 8 ft posts

  • Size 4 ball

  • 7 a side netball with positional bibs 

  • Coach Umpire

  • Non-scoring team Centre Pass

  • 6 seconds to pass

  • 1v1 defence from 4 ft 

  • Non-competitive with Scorecard scoring

9 year olds

  • Full-size grass court/posts

  • Size 4 ball

  • 7 a side netball with positional bibs

  • Coach Umpire

  • 1v1 defence only - 0.9m (3ft)

  • Non-competitive with Scorecard scoring

10 year olds

  • Full netball rules with size 4 ball

  • Umpired by qualified umpire

  • Non-competitive with Scorecard scoring
