HOW DO I REGISTER?

For all returning players, please download the Netball Connect App or visit https://netball-registration.worldsportaction.com/login and follow the prompts. Instructions have been emailed to all Club Members. If you didn’t receive the email, contact the Club at cannonhillstarsnetball@gmail.com.

New players will need to fill out the Expression of Interest Form located on the bottom of this page. These applications will be added to the waitlist and will be contacted if a place becomes available.

WHAT AGE GROUP DO I REGISTER FOR?

Age groups are determined by how old the player turns THIS year – e.g. if the player turns 9 in 2022 they will play with the 9 year olds.
 

• 7-12 years

• Inters – ages 13 & 14

• Cadets – ages 15 & 16

• Open – ages 17+
 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? (includes insurance)

Registration must be paid before the player takes the court for Grading. 2021 registration fees were:
 

• 7-9 years – $280

• 10+ – $300


HOW LONG DOES THE COMPETITION SEASON RUN?

Competition commences for all age groups, 7 years and over, around the beginning of May. Competition finishes at the beginning of September.

 

WHEN DOES TRAINING COMMENCE?

Training is every Thursday and will commence early February at Bill Cash Memorial Park at Cannon Hill. You will train with your team.
 

• 7-10 years – 4.00 to 5.00pm

• 11-12 years – 5.00 to 6.00pm 

• Inters & Cadets – 6.00pm to 7.00pm
 

WHEN IS GRADING

Grading will commence from the first Squad training session.
 

DO I NEED TO BE REGISTERED BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN GRADING?

For insurance purposes, all players must be registered before taking the court for grading or squad training.

DOES MY CHILD NEED TO ATTEND TRAINING?

Your child MUST attend training sessions. It is important for the team to train as a team. If you regularly don’t attend training, your non-refundable registration will be revoked and your position offered to a player on the waitlist.

ARE TRAINING AND GAME TIMES FLEXIBLE?

No. You must attend training at the specified times and games times are set by MDNA. Games times are generally the same every week. If you child has other commitments, you need to take this into consideration BEFORE registering.
 

SET UP AND PACK DOWN ROSTER

A set up and pack down roster will be communicated once teams are decided. Please make sure you are aware of when your team is rostered on.

WHERE ARE THE COMPETITION GAMES PLAYED?

The competition games are played at the Metropolitan District Netball Association (MDNA) courts, Wembley Park Coorparoo, every Saturday during school term. Games are played on the concrete courts and the grass courts. MDNA endeavours to keep the same game time each week for all teams. Time slots will be confirmed at start of season. Below is an indication only but must not be relied on when planning other activities.*
 

• 7 years – 8.15am / 9.15am

• 8 years – 8.15am / 9.15am / 10.15am

• 9 years – 8.15am / 9.15am / 10.15am / 11.30am

• 10 years – 8.15am / 9.15am

• 11 years – 9.15am / 10.15am

• 12 years – 10.15am / 11.30am / 12.45pm

• Inters – 11.30am / 12.45pm / 2.00pm

• Cadets – 2.00pm / 3.15pm / 4.30pm 

• Open – 3.15pm / 4.30pm

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE UNIFORMS?

Uniforms will be available to order at the beginning of the season. Keep an eye out for the club newsletter, Centre Court, for details and the STARS Facebook page. 

 

Prices as follows:

• Match Dress: $60

• Team Visors: $8

• Club Polo Shirts: $45

• Club Caps: $15

• Club Hoodies: $50

Volunteer Coaches, Umpires and Committee Executives will receive a free shirt.

Second hand uniforms are available for purchase on the Cannon Hill Stars Netball Club Second Hand Uniforms Facebook page. You will need to arrange payment directly with the seller.

DO I NEED TO BUY THE NEW DESIGN UNIFORM?

Yes. From 2022 it will be compulsory to wear the new uniform.

CAN I WEAR JEWELRY?

No jewelry (except Medic Alerts) may be worn on court when competing. Medic Alert bracelets must be taped during training and at MDNA. Earrings must be taped during training and removed for competition. 

 

HOW CAN I HELP?

Our club is run by volunteers so we need your help. Volunteer to be a Coach or Manager or train to be an Umpire.
